Synopsis

"Impressions of Brazil -  Season 2" is a television series consisting of 13 documentary-style episodes, each lasting 25 minutes. It continues the success of the 1st season, which aired on TV Brasil, Canal Curta!, and on VOD via the Tamanduá platform.

 

Similar to the first season, each episode will portray a prominent contemporary Brazilian writer, delving into their story, trajectory, influences, and creative process. None of the interviewees featured in the 2nd season will have participated in the previous edition. The series will feature writers from various genres including novels, poetry, short stories, chronicles, essays, biographies, and memoirs, providing a representative panel of contemporary Brazilian literary production with diversity in origins, genres, ethnicities, and styles. The curation will be done by writer Luís Fernando Emediato, who, among 40 names suggested by the production team, will select the final 13 to be featured in the series.

 

The main focus of each episode will be on the author, showcased through an interview conducted at their workplace, home, or office. Additionally, each program will include supplementary materials such as images of the author's city, their favorite and inspiring environments, and other elements that can illustrate their work and geographically, historically, and culturally contextualize the region of Brazil where the writer is based to create and produce their literature. Photos, excerpts from films adapted from their books, historical interviews, and other relevant documents from each interviewee's personal collection, along with graphic animations where aesthetically coherent, will compose the visual elements illustrating the episodes of the "Impressões do Brasil - Season 2" series.
