Honestino: The Movie
Feature film in post-production stage
Synopsis
The UnB, a public university, has always been neglected since the invention of Brasília. Starting from 1964, this institution suffered extreme violence, including police invasions and the dismantling of its pedagogical principles. Honestino Guimarães, a Geology student and president of the Student Federation of UnB, a student leader, was assassinated at the age of 26 by the dictatorship and is one of the political disappearances.
Now, his grandson, Lucas, 15 years old, seeks to understand who his grandfather was and what role contemporary society plays in preserving his memory. The documentary will use archive footage, unpublished texts kept in a box and never accessed to explore the concepts of memory, time, and information, and the transformation of the world that Honestino dreamed of compared to the dystopian world in which Lucas lives.
